day of the dead

This blog is about Day of the Dead folk art and current culture in America, it also contains artistic ideas that are not related but inspired by the Mexican Holiday. It’s not a traditional blog on the subject and contains other things people may perceive to be related. Day of the Dead ( Dia De Los Muertos ) is a celebration that expresses a strong sense of love and respect for deceased family members and the continuance of life.

I’ve already posted this year’s costumes, but today marks day one of Dia De Los Muertos. When I was young we’d go down to Mexico, have a big party at my Nana’s house and all go to visit my grandpa’s grave. We’d clean it up, set flowers and the ofrenda. I remember it was all so special to my Nana that the whole family be there.
Memories.
